About the Exhibition

河野富広と丸山サヤカが主宰するクリエイティブ・プラットフォーム konomad が発行するインディペンデントレーベル konomad editions の初ジャーナル『konomad journal N°0 : Dream—Sleep issue【夢・睡眠・森】』の創刊を記念し、同名テーマの企画展を 2025 年 6 月 13 日（金）から 7 月 3 日（木）まで開催します。
創刊号『konomad journal N°0』のテーマは「夢と睡眠の森」。コントリビューターとして写真・絵画・デジタルアートやドローイング、エッセイなど多様な表現手法を持つ国内外のアーティスト66名が参加。それぞれの視点から捉えた夢と睡眠にまつわる作品のほか、インタビューを通じた彼らの「夢と睡眠の森」を誌面に綴じ、展示空間へと展開します。
本展では、誌面の枠を超えて立ち上がる『夢と睡眠の森』のインスタレーションを通じて、66名のアーティストが紡ぐ多彩な作品世界をご体感いただけます。また、「Konomad Journal」創刊号に寄せて小説家・詩人の川上未映子による「夢と眠り」をテーマにした詩の特別寄稿のほか、サイケデリックバンドKikagaku Moyoの創設者・リードシンガーとして知られるTomo Katsuradaが、「Dream/Sleep」をテーマにしたコンセプトアルバムを制作。
眠りと夢のはざまを漂うように音のレイヤーを丁寧に紡ぎ、音色のグラデーションが心を静かに包み込む音楽をぜひ展示空間でご堪能ください。

About konomad journal

konomad is a creative platform founded by hair & wig artist Tomohiro Kono and photographer/visual artist Sayaka Maruyama. The name konomad comes from the idea of “this window” —a bridge between the cyclical world of imagination and the real world. Inspired by the concept of enriching the “forest” of people, represented by the character “众” (meaning “a crowd” or “people”), konomad launches konomad journal with three guiding themes: freedom, purity, and spontaneity. Formed through an intensive two-month period of deep dialogue, the inaugural issue marks the beginning of an ongoing record of konomad’s creative expressions. Each future issue will explore themes of current interest, edited from a unique perspective and shaped organically —sometimes even improvisationally—through encounters with people. Issue 0, the very first edition, is being published in book form. However, the expression of the journal will not be limited to print and is expected to evolve across a variety of media.

Feature Theme: Dream—Sleep Issue The inaugural issue, konomad journal N°0: Dream—Sleep Issue, is a concept-driven visual book created in collaboration with 66 artists who inspired konomad, centered around the theme “The Forest of Dreams and Sleep.” This issue began with editor-in-chief Tomohiro Kono’s deep interest in the realms of sleep and dreams. Each artist interprets the theme from their own unique perspective, weaving together a collection of fantastical, dreamlike worlds. These parallel visions converge to form a richly imagined "forest of dreams" within the pages of the book. In addition to the visual works, the journal features Q&A-style interviews exploring the artists’ personal stories and reflections related to sleep, dreams, and their creative routines. To coincide with the launch of this issue, we will host an immersive exhibition at New Gallery in Jinbocho, Tokyo, where visitors can experience the world of Dream—Sleep as it expands beyond the printed page and into physical space. For Tomohiro Kono, this issue marks the realization of a long-held creative vision and holds special significance as the first in this new journal series. The book is now entering its final production stage and will soon proceed to print. The retail price is expected to be $50.00 USD. More details will be announced soon, but we wanted to reach out in advance with this early notice.

☾　　Additionally, for the inaugural issue of konomad journal, novelist and poet Mieko Kawakami has contributed a special poem. Moreover, Tomo Katsurada, founder and lead singer of the psychedelic band Kikagaku Moyo, has created a concept album inspired by the theme “Dream—Sleep.” The music carefully weaves layers of sound that drift between sleep and dreams, with tonal gradations that gently envelop the listener’s mind. We invite you to fully immerse yourself in this musical experience within the exhibition space.
