“Taking inspiration from the corset, a historical emblem of distorted beauty, this work reflects on the irony of beauty’s allure: the body constrained, reshaped, and endangered in pursuit of perfection.”
These portraits depict “slaves of beauty”—women who silently gaze inward, as if confronting what lies beneath their skin when bound by a corset. They stand as symbols of our complicated relationship with beauty. Our story is neither pure fantasy detached from reality, nor stark reality stripped of fantasy, but something that exists in the tension between the two.
コルセットという〈美しい下着〉を〈破壊的な器具〉 として
捉えたときに浮かびあがってくる世界。
それは、圧迫された身体の悲鳴に耳を傾けた者だけが 見ること のできる
"KRAGENEIDECHSE"と呼ばれる実験舞台.
